Waiting on Wednesday - Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side

The very talented author, Beth Fantaskey, is making her Australian debut with Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side this February of which I am terribly excited about. Not only is Jessica's Guide a humourous look at a romance with vampires, it's got some nice messages to teens (aka feminism is a-okay.) Should sell like hotcakes.
Jessica is a normal high school teenager, stressing more about the prom than homework, about whether she should 'do it' with her boyfriend... or at least when is going to suggest it? and then suddenly there's someone new on the scene. Someone tall, dark and mysterious. Someone she is drawn to and repelled by. As Jessica tries to sift through her confused adolescent feelings, the reason for the stranger's appearance is revealed. Jessica isn't who she thought she was, and Lucius is the man to whom she was betrothed at birth, in a country far away, and to an inheritance she is too bewildered and frightened by to claim. Finally, can Jessica shun everything she thought she was and become the person her destiny says she should be?

I have already read and reviewed the book nearly a year ago now. I loved it from the beginning and enjoyed seeing it build an audience within the blogosphere. Soon Beth's Jekel Loves Hyde will be available in the USA so it looks as though we all luck out!

Jessica's Guide was one of my favourite books of this year - fun, hilarious, and still managed to have bite where more serious vampire stories lack.

I am so excited for Jekel Loves Hyde, and also to see this over this side of the Tasman!
