Reader's Snapshot - Gabrielle Williams

The lovely and talented Gabrielle Williams, author of Beatle Meets Destiny, has come aboard SS Persnickety for the staple reader's snapshot questions.

This Australian YA title is an immensely enjoyable, random and fateful journey tracing a boy named Beatle and a girl named Destiny. If you'd like to read my thoughts on this novel, you can read my review here.

Which book is memorable from your teen years?
My address book - not much of a plot, but an interesting cast of characters. Also, “Jane Eyre” - an interesting cast of characters, plus a great plot.

Describe your high school English teacher in three words...
Manly (even though she was a woman), whip-smart (is that one or two words?) and take-no-prisoners.

Your book of the moment?
“The Gargoyle”. Brilliant.

What do you use to mark your page when reading?

Dog ears.

Favourite place to read?
Bed.

Favourite word?
Persnickety, of course. Unfortunately, I don’t get to use it all that often.

Favourite book store?
Vic Avenue Bookstore in Albert Park.

Character you wish you had created?

Harry Potter and The Hundreds of Millions of Dollars.

Bonus Question: John Lennon or Paul McCartney?

Lennon. Every time.

Be sure to come by tomorrow to read my interview with Gabrielle about her book and process!
