Interview Assistance

As of Thursday I will be in Melbourne, Australia for the Reading Matters conference. My first day in town will see me interviewing two international YA authors face-to-face, MT Anderson and Mal Peet. Needless to say...I am VERY nervous.

MAL PEET (UK)
Keeper (2003)
Tamar (2005)
The Penalty (2006)
Exposure (2008)

MT ANDERSON (USA)
Thirsty(1997)
Burger Wuss (1999)
Feed (2002)
The Game of Sunken Places (2004)
Whales on Stilts (2005)
The Clue of the Linoleum Lederhosen (2006)
The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation, Volume 1: The Pox Party(2006)
The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation, Volume II: The Kingdom on the Waves (2008)

If you have any questions that you would love me to ask, please leave them in the comments section. I will even say the question is from you. I am hoping to record the interviews and upload them, so you could hear them say your name - is that inducement enough?

Good luck!
I'm going to the So You Wanna Be A YA Writer talk.

Met these two at school last week and attended the panel they shared with Margo Lanagan & Judith Ridge on Sunday. Both are easy to talk to and very interesting. Our kids asked about planning and about what parts of being a writer they liked. Have fun.

This sounds fantastic, Adele. Enjoy it - I know you'll be brilliant.

If there's any chance of it, please could you ask Mal Peet what he thinks of graphic novels, and whether he'd ever consider writing one?

Congrats! I don't have any questions for you, but I envy you. I have Octavian Nothing on my TBR shelf right now, and I've heard many great things.

Don't worry, you'll do fine. Have fun!

I have an hundred and one questions for MT Anderson, but they'd all sound sort of silly and fannish, so I'll pass. Though do find out if they ever entered any writing competitions before they were published. That'd be interesting to know.
