Rory Gilmore Envy

I love the Gilmore Girls.

I bought the series boxset, wrote a letter to TV Week when it stopped showing on TV and hung off every pop culture laden word. Of course the latter years tested this love - way too much Starshollow, Luke had a kid, and Logan. Which brings me to the topic of this post - Rory Gilmore.

I envied her life but not necessarily her. I wanted her mum, I wanted her grandparents and I wanted her boyfriends (bar Logan). I really wanted her intelligence, her book collection and how easy everything happened for her. I even wanted a Paris of my own.

I was cruising the 'net and realised that my envy had transferred to Alexis Bledel. On GG she left a lot of the heavy lifting to the magical Lauren Graham but did a great job at projecting confusion and wearing pretty clothes.

So here are my five reasons to envy Alexis:
1. Jared Padalecki (pre-Supernatural buff)

2. Jess (Did you realise I used his character name? Anyone who dates Hayden Panetierre in real life doesn't deserve me) - sucky boyfriend but boy was there sparkage.

3. Scott Porter(Jason Street - Friday Night Lights) is co-starring with her in The Good Guy. Clean cut and adorable, he's also a comic book geek - awww.

4. Zach Gilford (Matt Saracen - Friday Night Lights) is co-starring with her in The Post Grad Survival Guide. To which I say, Alexis - back away from the FNL cast. I swear if she goes near Taylor Kitsch, she will have problems.

and...

5. Edward Hermann

Oh, how I love Gilmore Girls. I hated the April storyline, though. Ugh.

I did, however, love Logan. I can't help it!

Can I just take this time to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE GG. With a strange, pop-culture fast-talking passion. I want a Jess, a Lorelai and a Luke's Diner.

And while I'm on the subject of TV: FNL kicks ass. Tim Riggins = RARRRGH.

Adele, how you rock.

(eek, apologies for the multiple comments. I think my computer froze. Sorry!)

Ahhh I'm in with everyone on the loving for GG! I'm terribly slow at going through the season (I'm in the middle of Season 2, and have this odd desire to watch everything chronologically), and I have to say that I envy Lorelei most. Not only does Lauren Graham play her brilliantly, but I even wish I had her problems. Rory was a little too "bleh" for me in the show.

AND I LOVE JESS MARIANO LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Hated Logan.

Did I ever tell you that I love you? I loooove Gilmore Girls! I bought all the seasons individually ($15 a pop at Target, baby!) and it was one of the best investments I've ever made, as I still watch them over and over. I got my brother to watch with me a few times and he recognized (the awesome) Edward Hermann as the man who has played Franklin D. Roosevelt about a dozen times. Honestly, best supporting cast ever. I spotted Miss Patty in an ancient made for tv movie I had to watch the class I was subbing for and NO ONE got why I was so excited!

BEST POST EVER!
I am very fond of saying when I grow up I want to be Lorelai Gilmore. I also own all seven seasons on DVD and quote the show all the time. This is a typical conversation with me and my boyfriend.

I randomly quote GG to him in conversation.
He looks at me, shakes his head and says was that GG again.
I say yes, of course, I want to be Lorelai Gilmore.
He says its a good thing I kept this from him until he already loved me because I am a crazy, obsessed fan.
